Others are long-time loyal Kmart customers relieved not to have to make an hour-long trek to either Goulburn, Campbelltown or Shellharbour to access the iconic brand.
"I would have loved a full store but it's nice that they have most of the stuff I need," said Julie, from Bowral, who previously travelled out of town to shop in Kmart.
She was at the store with her friend Kelly, who had previously not made the effort to shop in Kmart elsewhere.
"It has a good selection - I'm pleased they have some sensory toys," said Kelly, holding a bag full of purchases.
Another shopper, Sandra, was also impressed by their range of toys.
"There are lots of wooden toys for kids, and lots of things made from natural fibres," she said, adding that she normally didn't shop at Kmart but was happy with the store's arrival.
"I used to shop here at the Target - it's convenient."
The KHub stores are a scaled down version of larger Kmart stores, and are also a collection point for items from the Target range bought online.
They have replaced Country Target stores in 50 towns around the country.
One customer. Cindy, said she was disappointed the selection wasn't bigger.
"It's all right, but I didn't find what I was looking for," she said.
