For what we don't see is the control, the forced family interactions, the fear of blow ups, the pain of unimaginable grief and the weight of stories unable to be shared with anyone beyond the immediate four walls. For that sharing itself, could metaphorically throw more fuel on the fire.
If you live in fear and chaos with an abusive partner or family member, I want you to know that whilst your story is unique... it is most definitely not the only one ever lived. Each week I deal with women in my therapy space who too have a life they are trying to break free from.
My only wish for you is that 2021 is your year of doing what's right, and best, for yourself. And your children if you have any. I hope that this year you become empowered to use your voice... to demand more. To have in life that you were born to have. Freedom and peace.
There are ways out. And people waiting to guide you. Don't stay in the darkness another day. Reach out and create the life you deserve.
