Two women have been arrested after another woman was found injured in the boot of a vehicle in the Southern Highlands.

At about 11:30am, a member of the public called Triple Zero to report seeing a hand waving from the rear taillight section of a white Holden sedan on the Hume Highway at Pheasants Nest.

At about 11.50am, Highway Patrol officers attached to Southern Traffic Group stopped the vehicle on the Hume Highway at Berrima.
A woman was located in the boot of the vehicle suffering multiple stab wounds.
The 24-year-old was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Two other women, aged 24 and 18, were arrested and taken to Southern Highlands Police Station.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
