Now this Robertson extreme scooter rider has signed a sponsorship deal and has big plans for 2021.
Archie Thomas is relatively new to the sport, but is already pulling out tricks that can take a lifetime to master.
Once he started, there was no stopping him.
"I've been on my scooter for three years now," Archie said.
"I started at the Robertson Skate Park. I saw some kids doing it and it looked pretty cool. I also saw a lot of highlights on YouTube.
"Once I got into it, I haven't stopped."
Performing backflips and major flip moves is becoming second nature to the Robertson high flyer.
Once he commits to a move, he'll work on it till he nails it.
"You first try the bigger moves such as a backflip into a foam pit," Archie said.
"Then you work your way up to wood landing then concrete. The mindset I have before going for the bigger moves is to commit and focus.
"Just don't forget what you've learnt before you send it. Do that, and the trick will go well."
Producing an outstanding arsenal of moves has seen Archie signed to AtlasCo Online.
Connections in Sydney and his natural abilities have seen him flourish into a well-known figure within the sport.
"There's a move that's my best trick, called the 'bri buttercup'," Archie said.
"That move was difficult to nail.
"But, I've always wanted to be sponsored. I knew some riders already on the team (AtlasCo Online) in Sydney and they mentioned me.
"The owners were all about it. It was such an awesome feeling when they announced that I would be a part of the team.
"All I've ever wanted was to be sponsored and I finally got there."
Making plans for 2021 with COVID is difficult, but there is light at the end of the tunnel and Archie is hoping to take the next step within the sport.
"I'd love to have a future in the sport," Archie said.
"I'd love to continue climbing and getting sponsorship. I'd also love to build skate parks and even have my own scooter company one day.
"It's a really great sport that's growing at the moment. I want to keep getting better in my riding and when COVID dies down, I want to travel overseas and interstate to ride.
"I'd also like to compete in the Australasian Scooter Association (ASA) Scooter Competition.
"At the moment it's been cancelled due to corona. Hopefully the season will start off in September 2021 and if I do well in that I can go to Queensland. The next step would be Barcelona."
