This project cannot come quick enough. It promises so many well paid jobs (direct and indirect) for our unemployed locals and the stimulus that these jobs and Hume Coal will bring to the Highlands towns is something that will get us all back on the road to recovery.

More train services wanted
Re Moss Vale and Goulburn train station upgrade on track SHN online November 26
Great news regarding proposed upgrade of railway stations, now all we need are some trains to use it. How much longer do we have to wait to get decent and more frequent rail services to Campbelltown/Sydney?
Our previous MP seemed to showed very little interest in improving rail services, perhaps our new MP can show a bit more enthusiasm to get improved services, particularly an extra train mid morning (say 10:30am) to either Campbelltown or Central, and also a return train from Central around 5pm. An extra morning service on weekends would be also be welcome, with an afternoon return from Central. Time for our local member to step up and show she is willing to fight for her community.

A covid safety message
It is wonderful that we appear to have very few, if any, COVID-19 cases reported in Australia each day. Except for those in hotel quarantine, of course. It is also good news that life is getting back to a relative normal in most states, including the opening of internal borders.
Australia has done very well to this point but we must not forget that the virus is still out there and the process is clearly not air tight. The most recent cluster in South Australia was caused by the virus getting into the community from a quarantine hotel, the same applied with the second wave in Victoria and most recently we had a worker in a NSW hotel also diagnosed with the virus. We must continue to do those simple things such as physical distancing, washing our hands regularly and staying home when we are sick. Wearing a mask in enclosed or crowded public areas where we don't feel we can physically distance is also important. We need to stay on top of this and we all have a responsibility in achieving that.
