Celebrating Clay Christmas exhibition
The Bowral Art Gallery will hold a special exhibition before Christmas. See what its creative group has been up to during Covid-19 lockdown. An exciting range of unique ceramics will be on display. It will be a great opportunity to buy handmade Christmas gifts and enjoy looking at the beautiful creative works. The exhibition will run from December 2 through to December 15 from 10am to 4pm daily.
Southern Highlands Evening Branch, CWA
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Evening Branch, CWA NSW will be a Christmas meeting. It will be held on Thursday, December 3 at the Bowral CWA rooms in Wingecarribee Street, Bowral at 6.30pm.
After several months of meeting on Zoom this will be a welcome face to face meeting. However numbers will be limited and the meeting will be followed by a BYO supper, to comply with Covid-19 public health guidelines.

Farmer's market
The On the Grow Railway Street Farmers Market continues to provide a place to source healthy, fresh food. Located on the corner of Railway Avenue and Spring Street in Moss Vale, the markets are open from 3pm every Thursday afternoon.
Community pantry
The St Stephen's Anglican Church in Mittagong's popular morning tea has returned. Held on a Friday morning, this is supported with donations of cakes and pastries from Gumnut Patisserie, Bakers' Delight and the Chelsea Bakery in Mittagong. The morning tea is held each Friday from 10am until midday.
The Anglicare pantry will hold its last pantry day on Friday, December 4 and it will be the last chance for people to stock up for Christmas. They will have a few Anglicare Christmas hampers also for those who may be struggling this year.
Joylands Fun Park
This weekend will be the final weekend that Joylands Fun Park is at Moss Vale Showground. There will be rides, food, side show games, VR simulators and show bags.Over the two weekends, the fun park will operate in three hour sessions. Visit www.joylands.com.au for more information.
Exeter Markets
A country market with a vibrant community of makers, producers and sellers in one of the most beautiful settings in the NSW Southern Highlands. The next Exeter markets will be on December 5 from 9am until 1.30pm. and is held at Exeter Park. This outdoor market has something for everyone from plants, pates, preserves and pastries to handcrafted homewares, fashion, jewellery and pre-loved wares. Plenty of parking is available as well as a playground for children to enjoy.
Parkinson's support
The monthly meetings continue to be postponed. Coffee and chat (under social distancing and sanitising rules) are on Saturday mornings 9.30am-10.30am at Bradman Museum (order at the cafe but seating is in the museum). For further information contact Mrs Dympna Irwin 4869 5252.
Hydrangea and Collectable Plant Day at the Botanic Gardens
A plant sale at the Southern highlands Botanic Gardens, will offer lots of Hydrangeas, collectable and hardy plants. It will run from 9am to 3pm on December 5. All plants grown by Friends of the Gardens. There will be a coffee stall and children's playground. The Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens is located at 1 Old South Road, Bowral.
Diggers Military MC Annual Show and Shine
The Diggers Military MC Annual Show and Shine is open to everyone on December 5.There will be food and drinks, and raffles throughout the day. It will run from 9am to 3pm in Hoddle Street, Robertson. Email diggersmmcsec@hotmail.com or call 0416 136 483 for more information.
Retford Park Open Garden
Retford Park Garden will be open this weekend (December 5 and 6). Tickets will be available on the National Trust website and visits will be timed entry (including for the garden) and reduced capacity on house tours. COVID restrictions apply. Tickets will cost $15 for adults, $10 concession and are free for National Trust members. Visit www.nationaltrust.org.au/places/retford-park for more information.
Balmoral Pottery annual open weekend
This is the first open weekend after the big bushfires. Balmoral Pottery will be open for the weekend (December 5 and 6), displaying works by well known maker Sandy Lockwood for sale. Visit the gallery and see its wood burning kilns. Refreshments available. Balmoral Pottery will be open between 10am and 4pm and is located at 9 William Street, Balmoral.
Twenty Twenty - Sturt School for Wood
The Sturt School for Wood graduate exhibition for 2020 will open on Sunday. Come and see the remarkable furniture and objects made this year by the graduating students. The exhibition will run from November 22 through to December 6 at Sturt Gallery and Studios in Mittagong between 10am and 5pm.
Marionette performance
ImaginArta - the Australian Puppet Centre presents a gorgeous family puppet every Sunday at 11am at the Sutton Forest Hall. Ticket prices are $15 adults, $11 Children and only $10.50 per ticket for groups of four or more. With ticket numbers reduced because of Covid, bookings are strongly advised: https://www.trybooking.com/BLZKP. Currently playing is "In Search of the Giddy Gird Bird" by the Sydney Puppet Theatre.
Bundanoon Maker's Market
The Bundanoon Makers Market is held on the fist and third Sunday of every month (except January). The next one will be Sunday, December 6. It includes sewers, knitters, woodworkers, photographers, leatherwork and silver jewellery plus all you need for meals during the week with fresh fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread, Lebanese take home meals, hot Indian dishes, Japanese pancakes, Honey and Eggs plus an assortment of cakes and pies. Held at Bundanoon Public School, the market will run from 8.30am until 2pm.
Bushwalking
With some indoor activities still limited, now's a great time to get outdoors and enjoy some of the spectacular scenery the region has to offer.
