Students from Years 5 and 6 at Oxley College, painted pots which were delivered to people who receive Meals on Wheels, and the reaction was amazing. A member of the community whose husband received Meals on Wheels gave the school a rug that she had knitted and wrote a card that to be presented to Year 6.

These small gestures have had a large impact on the community and the ripple-on effects are a powerful reminder of the importance of Oxley's service learning programs that are a significant part of the Oxley journey. One of the key Oxley values is, Be Kind, and students continually demonstrate this in their daily interactions. The school is very proud of their Year 6 cohort - they are a very fine group of young people.
