A massive thank you
Yesterday (November 9) mid-morning I drove off from Bowral Co-Op with my wallet sitting on the roof of my car ( don't ask..).

It stayed there until the end of that ridiculous new roundabout on Kirkham Road, where no doubt it started to slide off. Its grip failed near Bowral Tyrepower and off it fell, scattering various of my identity and banking cards everywhere - I didn't notice.
Suffice to say that following a period of panic, calls to banks, the police etc. by 5.30 pm I had everything back in my possession.
My cards thanks to a wonderful couple from Tyrepower who drove out to my address near Hill Top to deliver them to me, and Sue from the Southern Highlands Driving school (I think I have that correct!) who retrieved my wallet from nearby and contacted the police station at Moss Vale, who contacted me.
A massive thank you to everyone - it is so nice to think we are still a caring community around here!

Support for more parking
Councillor Ian Scandrett has lodged a Notice of Motion for the Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 25.
It relates to the Station Street Upgrade project that Mayor Gair and his acolytes persist in promoting, against the wishes of thousands of community members in the Highlands.
The Station Street Upgrade project has languished in this council for nearly seven years since the announcement of a $71/2 million Grant from Infrastructure NSW in December 2013.
The proposal put forward in today's Notice of Motion by Cr Scandrett includes the recommendation to build some 166 new car parking spaces at the southern end of Station Street on land now controlled by this council.
Increased public parking in Bowral has been the major unfulfilled promise of this council since the Bowral Parking Strategy in 2012, and before that.
Only the recently extended carpark in Banyette Street has provided an extra 41 off-street parking spaces, and they are always full.
Other parking spaces have been built and extended since 2012 by developers, for example, at Coles, Dirty Janes, and The Mill.
166 new parking spaces in Bowral will serve the community better, and at much less cost, than building a four lane road that would remove 73 parking spaces at the Railway Station.
Bowral needs more parking, not less.
Councillor Scandrett's motion points out that the funds already in hand can be used by this Council to provide, or contribute to, other worthwhile projects of greater value to the community than this out-of-date road design.

Search for old friends
Mick and Julia Salter are very old friends of ours. They moved to Australia in 2009 from a town in England called Gosport.
We have lost touch with them and would very much like to rekindle our friendship with them.
Do you know where they live please. Julia is/was a local councillor in NSW. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help.
