It is also a wonderful time for young ones to head outdoors and immerse themselves in the beauty of all that Mother Nature has to offer.
No doubt a welcome relief for parents and children alike, especially in a year of uncertainty and restriction due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Keen local photographer Tanya Galwey and her children never fail to soak up the appeal of the great outdoors - regardless of the season or the circumstances.
And the team at the Southern Highland News loves to share Tanya's photos which always tell a story of appreciation of the natural appeal of the Southern Highlands.
Regardless of whether the youngsters in Tanya's photos are playing on hay bails, wandering through gardens or climbing on playground equipment, one thing is clear - these children are having a ball in the great outdoors.
This time Tanya has shared a beautiful picture of her six-year-old daughter Eliza collecting flower petals on a stunning Spring day.
"We have been enjoying the great outdoors this season, after a hard few months during covid-19 restrictions," Tanya said.
We would love to see pictures of how other people have been embracing the great outdoors - scenes from a hike, fun on the farm, time in the garden or a picnic on the lake are just a few suggestions.
