And organisers are calling on the expertise of someone well versed in the benefits of such a facility.
Jill Cockram from the long-established Moss Vale Community Garden will share her experience with those in attendance at a special meeting to be hosted by the Welby Garden Centre with a focus on the establishment of a new Community Garden in Welby.
Meeting organisers are quick to point out that community gardens are part of a growing movement towards growing your own local food.

They note that community gardens have many benefits for personal and environmental health and social togetherness. They can increase the availability of nutritious, affordable food, strengthen community ties and cultural connections, create a more sustainable system by producing food locally and can increase health and wellbeing.
They add that community gardens are recognised as a great way to learn new skills, meet your neighbours, get some exercise and improve your local environment - not to mention the delicious, fresh produce you can enjoy as a result of your contribution.
The meeting will take place at Welby Garden Centre on the corner of Bendooley Street, Welby, on November 18 between 6pm and 7:30pm.
The Community Garden will be established next to Challenge House in Cook Street, Welby.
All interested members of the community are welcome to attend the meeting.
