Southern Highlanders are an adventurous lot and love to travel. However, with overseas trips a thing of the past for a while at least, many of us are exploring our own regions in NSW and finding out just how beautiful our backyard is, especially now we have it all to ourselves.
Many Highlanders have links to Mollymook and Ulladulla due to its proximity to our region. While some have never visited the beautiful areas around Ulladulla and are now looking for a great escape to the coast.
Known for its picturesque harbour and bountiful seafood, Ulladulla is a vibrant town that offers a relaxing and delicious seaside escape. Ulladulla is a great base, close to beautiful beaches, sparkling lakes, charming villages and national parks.
Or if its a quiet little village you prefer, then Mollymook is where you must stay. With a beautiful beach, luxe accommodation and dolphins playing in the surf, the beachside paradise of Mollymook has lots of appeal. Enjoy delicious dining, go surfing and play a round of golf overlooking the sparkling ocean. You might even spot majestic whales migrating along the coast.
With its vibrant restaurant scene, golf, beautiful beaches and community feel, it's the perfect place to take a few days away from our landlocked region, to the warmth of a coastal town.
Matthew Forbes owns Mollymook Surf Beach apartments that are perfectly placed for you and your family to call your home-from-home while enjoying your break.
Matthew moved to Mollymook in 2012 to escape Sydney and raise his two children in this beautiful area.
"We have been very lucky to have a great business so close to the beach and with fantastic staff supporting us. Guests love our motel and we enjoy ensuring every guests visit is as pleasurable as possible," he said.
"Our motel is only steps away from Mollymook beach and the Mollymook golf club. We have a variety of room types including beach view rooms, two--bedroom apartments and spa rooms. Over the past few weeks guests have particularly enjoyed watching as whales make their way down the coast.
"I am very proud of my staff. My office staff are very welcoming and guests appreciate how helpful and friendly they are. We pride our ourselves on the cleanliness of our rooms and have extra cleaning procedures in place at this time."
Guests love Mollymook surf beach because of its proximity to the beach, cafes and golf club. Mollymook beach stretches for 2km, from Bannisters Point in the north to the golf club on the southern headland. Both ends of the beach are patrolled during the warmer months. Relax on the fine sands, enjoy beach fishing, and go snorkelling or diving around the rocky headlands and central reef.
