Several items will be discussed in council.
Draft public Memorial Policy and Public Memorials Policy Guidelines
Councillors will consider the adoption of the Public Memorial Policy and Public Memorial Guidelines. The draft policy was previously on public exhibition.
Feedback was given on the draft exhibition. This included naming ovals after living people, long term affinity should not be 20 years and that naming of memorial parks should depend on community consultation.
Feedback was noted and responses were given.
Proposed licence agreement for Country Women's Association, Mittagong
Councillors will receive a report for the reneweal of a licence agreement to the CWA Mittagong Branch. The rooms are located at Winifred West Park, Mittagong.
The CWA licence agreement is due to expire on 10 November 2020. CWA have confirmed that they wish to continue operating out of the rooms at Winifred West Park and have requested their licence agreement be renewed for another five years.
Expression of interest for Bowral Memorial Hall refurbishment
Councillors will consider tenders for the Bowral Memorial Hall refurbishment.
Several companies that submitted an expression of interest have been invited to tender for the job. The include: Belmadar Pty Ltd . Intrec Management Pty Ltd . Matrix Group Co Pty Ltd . Novati Constructions Pty Ltd . Odyssey Interiors Pty Lt
The refurbishment of the existing Bowral Memorial Hall will provide a modern concert venue with quality facilities.
It is hoped that the refurbishment will allow the Memorial Hall to become the focus point for the hosting of local and touring orchestral concerts, chamber music groups, piano recitals, jazz concerts, contemporary music, bands, exhibitions, meetings, seminars, conferences and community events
Exhibition of Draft Development Control Plan amendments for signage
A report will be put before councillors in regards to the public exhibition and review of council's signage policy.
A review was reported to council on August 26 2020 where it was noted that several dradt amendments were recommended. This included relevant definitions regarding signage and advertising, assessment guidelines and an expansion on assessment criteria for digital signs.
It is recommended that the draft Development Control Plan amendments for Signage, as exhibited, be adopted.
