Now that fortitude has paid off again with another big time performance on the soccer pitch.
Southern Highlands Georgie Lewis signed with Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa in January earlier this year.
Determined to make it over there, Lewis attained a travelling exemption and emergency visa so she could head over to the States during the COVID pandemic.
With three flights and quarantine, Lewis came out and scored a hat-trick for her new team on debut.
Now on her birthday and closing out the Fall season, she has scored two goals and assisted another with a 5-0 win over St Ambrose College.
All five goals were scored in the first 20 minutes as Indian Hills Community College put on a dominate display.
Georgie's grandfather and a Bowral Bowling Club staple, Gordon Lewis could not have been more proud.
"Georgie was in the starting eleven and scored the first two goals in nine minutes and assisted the third goal," Mr Lewis said.
"They have just had there first fall of snow and I wish her all my best."
