Farmer's market
The On the Grow Railway Street Farmers Market continues to provide a place to source healthy, fresh food. Located on the corner of Railway Avenue and Spring Street in Moss Vale, the markets are open from 3pm every Thursday afternoon.
Community pantry
The St Stephen's Anglican Church in Mittagong's popular morning tea has returned. Held on a Friday morning, this is supported with donations of cakes and pastries from Gumnut Patisserie, Bakers' Delight and the Chelsea Bakery in Mittagong. The morning tea is held each Friday from 10am until midday.
Parkinson's support
The monthly meetings continue to be postponed. Coffee and chat (under social distancing and sanitising rules) are on Saturday mornings 9.30am-10.30am at Bradman Museum (order at the cafe but seating is in the museum). For further information contact Mrs Dympna Irwin 4869 5252.
Beatrice Park open garden
1960 Town Garden winner Beatrice Park will be open to the public on October 24 and 25. Located on the corner of Kangaloon Rd and Bendooley Streets, Bowral, admission will be $5 per person or $10 for a family. Proceeds will go to the Australian Garden History Society. The event will be COVID- 19 safe.
Resonate 1/3
Resonate is a fast-paced evening of ideas, issues, community, and entertainment hosted by Dave Gorman from the HighCast Podcast. The series, beginning on October 25, will look at local issues, stories, and people who have exhibited resilience and courage; creating, producing, and building community here in the Southern Highlands and neighbouring villages. You can join the live (COVID safe) event or jump online on Zoom and be part of the conversation. You can continue the conversation after the event as we release video coverage to keep the ideas, inspiration, and engagement building. Due to social distancing requirements, these free ticketed events are limited to 20 guests. This series is a joint production of Mental Gallery, FIAS, HighCast, funded by the Wingecarribee Shire Council through the Social Recovery Small Grants Program. Marionette performance
ImaginArta - the Australian Puppet Centre presents a gorgeous family puppet every Sunday at 11am at the Sutton Forest Hall. Ticket prices are $15 adults, $11 Children and only $10.50 per ticket for groups of four or more. Soul Time
The theme for the October Soul Time is "The Dance of Life"- journeying between where you once were and where you are now, and exploring the relationship between body and mind. The event will be held on Zoom at 7pm on Sunday, 25 October with a soul-enriching program filled with quotations and stories from philosophers, divine educators and other writers along with musical interludes. The program will also be posted on Facebook at facebook.com/Soul.Time.Wingecarribee
Soul Time is a community service initiative of the Wingecarribee Baha'i community. It is not a religious event. It's a way to inspire people, to bring people together no matter what their religion or spiritual beliefs and spend a thoughtful nurturing hour to be inspired about how the world could look. Bushwalkers
With some indoor activities still limited, now's a great time to get outdoors and enjoy some of the spectacular scenery the region has to offer. Southern Highlands Bushwalkers are still offering a range of walks. The next walk will take place on Sunday, October 25 at Long Nose Ridge Hill Top. It will be a long day out 20 - 25km. Mostly on relatively level fire trail into the Nattai Wilderness. Some exploratory aiming for East Nattai Walls with views over Martin Creek. Contact Greg M on 0419 330 908 to book a spot.
