Wingecarribee Shire Council is encouraging residents to pick up their free map and start planning for this year's Southern Highlands Arts Trail.

Council's cultural development officer Erin Adams said this year's Art Trail presents a unique set of challenges but the personal safety of artists, residents and visitors remains a top priority.
"We've developed a COVID-19 Safety Plan for the event and registered as a COVID Safe business. All studios and galleries will be observing social distancing and COVID-safe practices," she said.
"This year we've got 37 studios and nine galleries displaying works from more than 80 artists joining us as part of the Trail.
"This includes 13 new studios joining us for the first time."
"With so many studios open the key is to grab this year's trail map nice and early and plan your trip in advance."
The Arts Trail will be held over the weekends November 7 - 8 and November 14 - 15 from 10 am to 5 pm.
"The Southern Highlands has long been a place favoured by artists with the area providing the perfect conditions for inspiration and creativity," Erin added.
"And the Arts Trail is a fabulous opportunity to see beyond their studio doors and witness the creative processes that go into their beautiful works of art."
Mediums on display will include both traditional and contemporary paintings, etching, ceramics, woodworks, textiles, photography, sculpture, printmaking and jewellery.
"All studios will be open free to the public but be prepared to be tempted and make some special purchases along the way."
New for this year is the option for visitors to book a one-on-one appointment with participating artists and a series of mini events whereby studios will host intimate gatherings and share some creative secrets of their resident artists.
Bookings are essential.
