On Sunday, September 27 at Bowral Bowling Club Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Carl Spilker and Dugald Braithwaite defeated Gordon Lewis, Alistair McGhee, Dave Coltman and Ashley Lewis 31-13 in the final of the club major fours championship.
Winning skipper Dugald Braithwaite after the match stated that his team was on song from the first end, but would like to say that his lead Noel Fraser deserves special mention.
Fraser won 17 ends against his opposing lead who will remain nameless.
With drawing the shot continually, Braithwaite said that Fraser is a player who does not get the credit that he deserves over the season, and he wants to make certain he is acknowledged after this great win.
Team Braithwaite who had no financial gain from their win started off with a bang being 7-0 up after two ends.
Team Lewis started to get some composure in fear of getting left behind pulled back to be 10-5 down after six ends.
With urging by skipper Braithwaite his team then put on a great show of shots to have a unbeatable 22-8 lead after 14 ends.
Then to inflict more pain Team Braithwaite launches into a range of shots that Team Lewis could not match, scoring four shots on the 18th end and another four shots on the 20th end and.
At the finish the gap between the two sides being 18 shots.
Losing skipper Ashley Lewis stated that the slow beginning by his side did not help, and they had left all there good shots in the semifinal the day before.
But, he warned that it will take a good side to beat Team Braithwaite in championship fours as this is the fourth year in a row they have won it.
But, congratulations to them they completely out played us on the day.
