There is no shortage of great sights to behold in the Southern Highlands and photographer, John Swainston has witnessed many a great scene worthy capturing on camera.
But even he was in awe of this recent sight from the top of Range Road, near Mittagong.
"This was on Monday night (September 14) when at 5pm a huge great low cloud of menacing grey poured in from the coast," he said.
"When I got to the top of Range Road I found a lady of my age parked there, just taking in the pure magic that is our Highlands.
"We acknowledged each other - no words - just rejoicing in the sight.
"We were both moved by nature's beauty."
