Helen Reid, meteorologist at the Bureau of Meteorology, said that it will be a wet weekend for Southern Highlands.
"However, we are not expecting anything in terms of flooding there," she added.
A maximum temperature of 16 degrees is expected today with high chances of rain later this afternoon and evening in Bowral.
On Saturday, August 15, showers are likely with a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon in Bowral. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 14 and six degrees respectively.
The weather is expected to be mostly sunny on Sunday.
Ilana Pender-Rose from Southern Highlands SES media team said that they are "restocked, resupplied and ready to go".
"We will monitor the situation. However, we are always encouraging people to prepare for severe weather," she said.
For safety purposes, SES asks residents to clean their gutters, drain pipes and drains regularly to prevent blockages, fixing any damage to their roofs and fixing trees and branches that could potentially fall on their home or property, maintaining the yards and balconies.
Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are expected for Goulburn over the weekend as well.

Meteorologist Helen Reid said that showers are expected in Goulburn throughout the weekend.
"We are mindful of the river catchments in the southeast where they had some flooding last weekend. But, it is not likely to be a problem on this occasion," she said.
"It will be a bit of a wet weekend but it isn't expected to be very cold either."

Goulburn is expected to receive around 5mm of rainfall today, about 4mm tomorrow, and 0.2mm on Sunday.
"Today, we are expecting rainfall further north. On Saturday, it would be more of a south coast feature. So, Goulburn is on the edge of it on both days," she said.
No weather warning has been issued for Goulburn at this stage.
Goulburn SES is also not expecting wild weather like last weekend.
A total of 130 millimetres of rain was recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology for Goulburn, with totals of over 200 millimetres reported in some areas.
