Grants of up to $5000 are available for recovery focused health and wellbeing projects in the Wingecarribee Shire.
Council's coordinator community development, Cath Brennan, said the program would support collaborative approaches to recovery with a view to long term community health, wellbeing and connectedness.
"We believe that programs which are instigated and led by affected residents will have a greater uptake and more positive influence than many externally organised programs," Ms Brennan said.
"The losses our bushfire affected residents have experienced can only truly be appreciated by someone that has walked in their shoes."
Funding is available for programs and activities that reflect one or more of the simple and proven actions outlined in the 'Five Ways to Wellbeing' framework: connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give.
Applicants can access the Social Recovery Small Grants Program guidelines and application form from council's website at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/other-grant-opportunities.
Applications close at 4pm on August 28 2020.
