There is a fallen tree in Bowral on Kangaloon Road near Eridge Park Road.
The road is closed in both directions and local diversions are in place.
Five Wingecarribee Shire Council road crews were called to the scene, where the tree landed on a car and brought down power lines.
The crews were also kept busy with several other storm damage calls.
Transport for NSW and a utility company are attending the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route.
Meanwhile there is flooding on Sheepwash Road between the Illawarra Highway and Kangaloon Road.
Drivers are asked to use local diversions and avoid the area.
Nearby at Fitzroy Falls, fallen trees and a rockslide have created hazards for motorists.
Transport for NSW crews are working to fix the problems. Traffic is affected in both directions.
