A new notification procedure will come online on Monday, August 3.
All landowners and property occupiers who are intending to conduct pile burning must register 24 hours prior at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify.
Registration does not remove the responsibility of the landowner or property occupier to obtain an approval to burn from Wingecarribee Shire Council or Wollondilly Shire Council.
Those who intend to conduct pile burning are also required to notify their neighbours at least 24 hours in advance.
The bushfire danger period for the next season started early for six local government areas on Saturday.
These include the Armidale region, Walcha, Uralla, Glen Innes Severn, Inverell and Tenterfield.
The danger period will roll out for the rest of NSW, including the Wingecarribee Shire, over the next two months.
Residents are advised to start thinking about their bushfire survival and property preparation plans now.
