Three even games were held on Wednesday, July 29 at Bowral Bowling Club.
Three matches were a top challenge with very small margins at the finish.
Harold Wall and Robin Staples played out a draw against Jim Starkey and Peter Lieslieur 17-17.
No one dominated the first half with Wall and Staples having a 9-7 lead.
Then Wall and Staples launched into some top shots to lead 15-12, but Starkey and Lieslieur had the last laugh by drawing level to end up all square 17-17.
Colin Stone and Peter Morales defeated Richard Denman and Owen Williams 22-21.
Another tight challenge saw it 10-10 after eleven ends.
Denman and Williams had a glorious chance on the last end to get a victory, but just missed the jack to convert.
Bruce Franklin and Mick Flynn defeated Paul McInerney and Gordon Lewis 21-20.
McInerney and Lewis had a comfortable 14-8 lead after 14 ends.
Franklin and Flynn then won the next three ends picking up seven shots on the 17th end to jump to a 20-14 lead.
Some careless shots by Lewis contributed to the big score. There was no luck in Franklin and Flynn's win they came home the strongest.
