While she has only been a volunteer for a short time, it is something of which she has always been aware.
Her mother was a volunteer and several of her friends are as well.
But it was not until March this year when she was stood down from work due to the global pandemic that Marie had time to volunteer.
"I love the fact I'm doing something for someone else," she said.
Marie has become a volunteer driver and said it had been nice to meet people on her regular weekly route.
"They're just so appreciative that someone comes to their doors and delivers the food to them. The more they see you, the more they'll chat to you."
And while contact with clients was limited due to Covid, Marie said it was still important to look after the people they delivered to.
"I don't just want to drop and run. I want to make sure they're ok."
Marie, who has been working at QANTAS as cabin crew member, said she much preferred working with people to being in an office.
"Community - that is what my life is about. I come from a family that's always been involved in community projects," she said.
"I have got the time now to give something back."
She also praised the staff at Meals on Wheels.
"They're a wonderful group of people there."
Marie said she planned to retire this year and would continue her work with Meals on Wheels.
Over recent months, Meals on Wheels have had more volunteers step up, including many younger volunteers.
"It's for any age group if you have the time," Marie said.
Volunteers can also help Meals on Wheels in the kitchen, or administrative work as well as through delivering meals.
