The road to glory started with a written application that included five questions about the candidates before all of their teachers had to fill out a sheet with recommendations about the candidates, their work and behaviour in class.
Those successful after that stage moved on to the interviews conducted by the principal, deputy principal, year advisor and leadership coordinator.
The final stage was presenting speeches online so the staff and students could vote.
The goal of the four captains was summed up well by Isabel.
"I want to try and make sure everyone feels included," Isabel said.
"I want to work with the other captains to make the school better than it already is.
"I want to inspire people to give everything a go and to do their best."
The aspiring law student has always wanted to be captain and after some disappointment, she finally got what she deserved.
"I wasn't successful in primary school and didn't get the role," she said.
"I've always been connected with the school as my dad works here.
"It was also a good boost in confidence for me."
For Mikayla, being captain meant the world to her and she was stoked to have been picked.
"It's always been a big passion of mine to be the best possible leader I can be," Mikayla said.
"Being in a leadership role is something I've done for a long time including being in the SRC since year 9.
"I want to strive to encourage others to do their best in every situation and to experience the opportunities that I've had."
Matthew Kelly and Matthew Johnston applied for the role because they thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to expand their skills and thought it would be fun to do.
The four captains don't start their duties until week seven.
They will work alongside the current captains for a short time to get used to what they have to do.
