It is a situation that has taken a toll on people in many ways - physical and mental health, financial security and social isolation are key features associated with the pandemic fall out.
Life as we knew it has definitely changed.
As a media outlet we have a role to keep people informed about what is happening with regard to this virus, as well as other news. We are committed to that role.
We will also share those stories that remind us that we are all in this together. Reading the stories about the experiences of others can help us to realise we are not alone and we can get through this. A recount of lockdown in Italy by a returned Highlander drives home this message.
But never have I been more determined to seek the positive stories in our community.
We may be navigating strange times but we need to call out our blessings and embrace the positives in life.
Fortunately there are some wonderful stories out there and it is a pleasure to be able to share them with our readers.
One of my favourites over the past week is the one about the Marulan dairy cow that helped raise fire-affected calves.
It is also great to celebrate the news of our schools such as the announcement of new school captains set to take over their leadership role at Moss Vale High School.
If you have a great story, please let us know at jackie.meyers@austcommunitymedia.com.au
Stay safe,
