Young LGBTQIA + people aged between 12 and 25, as well as allies and supportive organisations in the Wingecarribee Shire are invited to participate in the Wear it Purple Day video project.
To participate in the project, people are required to simply create a short (30 second) video clip by answering the following two questions:
1. Why is Wear it Purple Day important to me/us?
2. How does prejudice impact my life as an LGBTQIA+ person? (optional)
The videos will be combined into one video and will be shared on social media and played simultaneously in multiple locations across Macarthur and the Wingecarribee Shire on Wear It Purple Day on August 28, 2020.
Video submissions are due by August 1, 2020 and can be submitted via the website.
To get involved or to submit your video visit http://www.inclusivecommunities.com.au/wearitpurple/
The Macarthur Wingecarribee Diversity Network brings together services that provide support for young people who identify as LGBTQIA + to build capacity and collaborate in safe spaces and provide safe access to support.
Wear it Purple was established in 2010.
The organisation aims to show young people across the globe that there is hope, that there are people who support and accept them, and that they have the right to be proud of who they are.
