The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, police and other emergency services rescued a missing bushwalker and their dog on Thursday afternoon.
The search took about an hour and emergency services located the woman just before 5.30pm.
Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter general manager of coastal safety Shane Daw said there were several challenges with the rescue.
"We worried about it getting dark and the last light," he said.
"Any time you're looking for someone in the bush, you've got the canopy of the trees, it makes it a bit tricky in that sense. Then you have to find a spot to winch down and bring them back up."
Mr Daw said it wasn't uncommon for bushwalkers to get lost.
"We just remind people to be aware of where they're going. It doesn't take much to get lost," he said.
"Let someone know what time you're coming back. Carry devices so you can contact emergency services should the need arise."
