Correction, diplomat of the century.
On Thursday night at the Gabba, Thurston was asked the dumbest question I have ever heard.
I know what a dumb question is having asked one or two myself.
But nothing compares to the one served to Thurston, the former Cowboys match winner.

The head Channel 9 commentator asks Thurston with the Roosters leading 42-6: "Jonathon Thurston what do you think of the Cowboys' defense?"
There was a pause.
Thurston obviously trying to regain his composure. He gave a balanced reply, not the one I would have given.
I won't name the commentator to spare him further ridicule.
What a raving idiot.
The under-manned Roosters continue to sizzle.
Five tries to Sydney born Tongan Matt Ikavalu. I'm lost for words.
Something I may have in common with Jonathon Thurston.
Meanwhile at the SCG words of praise showered upon Gary Rowan.
The former Swan ignited the Geelong Cats in a devastating display.
When he walloped three of the Brisbane Lions to the ground and was on report for one of them a wave of excitement swept the ground, a ground bred from Rugby League excitement.
Who was this Gary Rowan?
Not the one who when a Swan ran fast, faster than anybody else and often disposed to the likes of Buddy but was so injury prone we didn't to see enough of him.
Rohan was not a Cat on Thursday night. He was all Lion, front, back and centre.
One of the best all-round games of the season.
Never overawed by the company of Ablett, Dangerfield or Hawkins.
Muscled up aplenty since a Swan. Revelling in all the going.
Leaving the Cats flushed with expectation.
The Swans green with envy.
