When it comes to the main news of the week you would be hard pressed to look past the situation in Victoria. A significant increase in COVID-19 case, the subsequent second lockdown in Melbourne and border closures. Then there has been the reopening of borders to Queensland. Yes it has been a big week in national news.
But closer to home, in the Southern Highlands, there has also been much happening on the news front. It has been a particularly busy time in council with with rate rises announced and pay rises for elected officials adopted.
There has also been controversy regarding the Wingecarribee Shire Council's submission into the Bushfire Royal Commission.
Then there are those stories that are shining a positive light on the region such as a section of the Bowral CBD being held up as an example of good urban design.
And who doesn't love a good story about the achievements of pro-active younger members of the community such as the talent shining through the Wingecarribee Vocal Muster. We love telling these stories and we hope you love reading them.
As the old saying goes, variety is the spice of life. We aim to embrace that philosophy in the mix of stories we seek. Our ultimate goal is to appeal to the varied interests of all our loyal readers.
Stay safe
