Succinct, simple, satisfactory.
Channel 9 commentator Phil Gould summing up Parramatta's 40-4 demolition of North Queensland at Bankwest Stadium.
Gould, on this occasion didn't have to wax lyrical.
The Eels were, and are as he says-just too good.
Four tries to defense eating Fijian winger Maika Sivo and a five star performance from fullback Clinton Gutherson were "just too good."
Sivo has served notice to all coaches that he is more than a handful for a sole defender as was Semi Radradra 30 tries in 37 games for the Eels.
And of all the "just too good" Eels wingers Eric Grothe.
The Guru scored 78 tries for his club and a poultice for State and country.
The electricity is back in the Eels backline.
I was surprised to read the Daily Telegraph's match report on Parramatta's win over the Cowboys.
In 30 paragraphs not one devoted to Eels' centre Michael Jennings.
Talk about electric!
Jennings was the proverbial "jack-in-the-box." Here, there and everywhere.
I rate Jennings the No.1 centre in the NRL.
A sight for sore eyes.
So are the Rooster and the Storm as good?
Taking a rain check on that.
The edge-of-your-seats thriller at Suncorp drew the following from Immortal Andrew Johns: "This game will be talked about for a long time."
Agree but it was a game with two many errors for my liking.
The defense was ferocious and caused numerous cough-ups.
Perhaps the Eels' defense is not as fierce?
Does defense still win the big games or is it an electric attack that gets the trophy?
Still time to pontificate but we musn't rule out the Panthers or the Raiders.
