That's how much this man is respected in the Southern Highlands and surrounding cricket community.
He's backed and opened doors for many aspiring cricketing hopefuls, some of which have gone on to play for the country.
His name is Brian Martin and he's Southern Highlands, 'Mr Cricket'.
On July 6, 2020 Martin was inducted as a Life Member of the Highlands District Cricket Association (HDCA).
He is only the eighth person in the history of the HDCA to achieve this honour, which was proposed by Bundanoon Cricket Club and endorsed by the entire cricketing community.
Before he was known as 'Mr Cricket' he was just a boy infatuated with the game.
"I've been playing cricket for as long as I can remember," Martin said.
"I would have been around 10 when I began to play and I've been playing ever since."
Martin grew up in Riverstone NSW, but as a boy he never had idols like many other players. He just loved the game of cricket itself.
"I didn't really look up to any player in all honesty," Martin said.
"At that age and time period there was no TV broadcasting the matches. You had to buy a newspaper and where we lived you got the paper once a week (laughs).
"Growing up, I can't say I really idolised anybody.
"I played for Riverstone, but was never much of a cricketer. I just really enjoyed the game."
Being only the eighth person to be inducted as a life member to the HDCA, along with the backing of the cricketing community as a whole, is a great pleasure for this humble man.
But, the personal accolades aren't what he's after. He loves the seeing the future of the game in good hands and enjoyed.
"I'm very proud and honoured by the induction," Martin said.
"But I get more out of seeing the kids progress. We've had many kids from the Highlands area go on to play in Sydney and a couple represent Australia.
"That's what it's all about for me. Seeing the kids get out there and enjoying their cricket. Those are my fondest memories.
"Running into kids that have grown up and gone on with their lives to then recognise me and have them remember me giving them a lift to cricket, that's what I get a buzz out of."
