And their continued community assistance was recognised last week, when a very special visitor dropped in to visit the Bowral branch.
The Governor General His Excellency the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley met with a small group of members at the branch's rooms in Bowral.
The purpose of the Vice Regal visit was to thank Bowral branch members for their work and continued efforts supporting communities during the recent drought and bushfire emergencies.
The Bowral branch continues to provide financial and material support to a number of western NSW towns in drought affected areas.
His Excellency thanked CWA Members for their ongoing support of communities impacted by drought and bushfires.
Her Excellency Mrs Hurley, wearing her CWA badge, expressed her pleasure at meeting members.
She then sang her CWA song and everyone joined in singing 'You are my Sunshine'.
Mrs Hurley was presented with a pink orchid as a memento of the visit.
The Governor General was presented with a booklet containing a synopsis of Bowral Branch activities.
These included financial and material support to CWA Branches in Western NSW drought areas and in collaboration with other CWA branches and quilts donated by quilter groups from throughout NSW which were distributed to bushfire victims in the Southern Highlands and the NSW South Coast areas.
