The motorcycle rider is in a stable condition at St George Hospital as of Monday morning, following a crash at Macquarie Pass on Sunday afternoon.
The woman was believed to have non-life-threatening injuries, according to NSW Police.
Update (3.30pm, July 5):
Macquarie Pass has re-opened following an earlier motorcycle crash.
A Southern Highlands Police spokesman said the woman was taken to St George Hospital.

Macquarie Pass remains closed after a motorcycle crash.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics are treating the female rider.
Her injuries are not considered life-threatening at this stage.
Light vehicles are advised to detour via Jamberoo Mountain Road and should allow an extra 10 minutes travel time between Robertson and Albion Park.
Heavy vehicles are asked to detour via the Hume Highway, Picton Road and should allow an additional 30 minutes travel time between the Hume Motorway and Albion Park.
Update (12.30pm, July 5):
A Southern Highlands Police spokeswoman said it appeared a female motorcycle rider had sustained "minor injuries to her hand" after she fell about 20 metres down a cliff.
It is believed the injured woman fell on the second bend at the top of Macquarie Pass.
The motorcycle rider is being assisted by a medical professional and several bystanders, according to the police spokeswoman.
Light vehicles are advised to detour via Jamberoo Mountain Road and should allow an extra 10 minutes travel time between Robertson and Albion Park.

Earlier (Midday, July 5):
The Transport Management Centre has asked motorists to avoid Macquarie Pass following a motorcycle crash.
The Illawarra Highway near Mount Murray Road became affected in both directions before midday on Sunday, July 5.
Transport for NSW and emergency service crews are in attendance.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays while police direct traffic.
