Previous school principal Scott Osbourne started the project before he left and new principal Emily Morrow, who was there at the completion, said it allowed students to not be confined to the classroom.
"This was created to have a nice space for classes to engage in learning activities in an outdoor environment," Ms Morrow said.
"With a top up from school funds, the new amphitheatre looks fabulous and the students have been thoroughly enjoying the space."
The project cost a total of $23 670 and was aided by funding from the P and C, Holcim, Junction Plant which carried out the work and donated the turf, Divalls which rejuvenated the sand pit next to the area and Alan Weston who donated the plaque.
The amphitheatre, which took the two week Easter school holiday period to complete, was just a hill up to the top oval before it was built.
The P and C also played a big part in the project going ahead.
"They are passionate about updating our school grounds," Ms Morrow said.
"As a community, we wanted a nice space for the students during recess and lunch.
"We also chose an amphitheatre design so that it could double up as a nice outdoor learning space that teachers could use with their classes."
The school plans to officially open the area when COVID-19 restrictions ease.
