Spearheaded by Highland FM's Adam Stokeld, the Kind Hearts campaign aims to spread a little kindness after an unprecedented six months.
"Kindness encourages tolerance and brings peace, happiness and love. Random acts of kindness and generosity of spirit are long remembered and restore faith in our society," Adam said.
"Kindness is not something that demands hard work or huge amounts of time. It's something all of us can strive to achieve every day.
"Knowing that the power of the gift of kindness are immense for both the giver and receiver, why wouldn't you want to help others more
"So join us and smile, say hello and be kind to each other."
ReFrame and Community Links Wellbeing community engagement officer Alice Richards said that kindness was a great way to connect with people.
"Kindness really benefits our community. If we talk and share stories of kindness, perhaps more people will spread kindness," she said.
"I'm super excited to encourage people to participate, it's easy and free and if it makes people happier, I'm all for it and it will resonate with young people."
Ms Richardson said that she hoped the kindness campaign could turn in to an annual event which would involve schools.
"It can start with a conversation," she said.
"You never know what people are going through and asking the right questions or even a smile can make a huge impact.
"Kindness is contagious and we could all use a good news story."
