A Wingecarribee Shire Council spokesman said that $200,000 had been set aside to 'Embellish' David Wood playing fields, playground improvements and extension of the car park.
He said the money was paid by the Retford Park developer under the Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA).
"This means the monies are to go towards upgrading or improving the existing facilities," he said.

"It is not for the establishment of a new playground facility.
"The playground is currently closed due to safety issues.
"The soft-fall surface is being replaced."
The spokesman said a contractor had been engaged with works scheduled to start in July.
"Once commenced the project is expected to only take a few weeks to complete and cure before reopening to the public," he said.
Meanwhile, a separate project in the vicinity of David Wood Playing Fields could pave the way for a Bridge Club in the area.
The spokesman said a lease had been approved by the Minister for Local Government Shelley Hancock MP.
He said the location earmarked for the project was adjacent to the existing sports fields and playground.
"The Bridge Club is one of several regular hirers of council's East Bowral Community Centre, located next to the Scottish Arms Hotel," he said.
"The proposed lease will have no effect on the VPA monetary contributions," he said.
"The VPA monies are to be spent on replacing the soft-fall surface within the existing playground."
The spokesman said that council had not set aside any funds for the Bridge Club facility.
"It's anticipated the proposed facility would be leased to the Southern Highlands Bridge Club for their exclusive use," he said.
