Bundanoon has transformed into Brigadoon for one day only for the past 42 years attracting about 10,000 people to the Southern Highlands annually.
But new volunteers are desperately needed for the event that has been enjoyed by people from around the globe.
While committee stalwart Alaistair Saunders is not one to herald a demise of the event, he has concerns for the future if new volunteers don't step up to the plate.

"We need new blood and new ideas to ensure the future of Brigadoon," he said.
"We enjoy what we do, but we can't do it forever.
"I'm not getting any younger, I'm 79 next year and I've been on the committee for 23 years.
"The president Peter Rocca has been a Brigadoon volunteer for more than 30 years. Even my son, who is now 42 and comes from Canberra, has been volunteering for about 20 years."
Mr Saunders said that there were currently fewer people doing more jobs to ensure the ongoing success of Brigadoon.
He said a key priority was to secure volunteers to oversee the stalls at the event each year.
"This would be a good job for a couple or a few good friends," he said.
"We also need new volunteers to come and shadow the current volunteers so they can learn the ropes for the future."
Mr Saunders was quick to point out the value of Brigadoon to the community at large.
"This event brings about 10,000 people to the Highlands each year and that has a flow on effect to other businesses," he said.
"If we had to pack it in the community would feel the pinch, most accommodation is booked out a year in advance.
"The event is entirely run by volunteers and funds raised are dispersed back in to the community.
"That has amounted to about $1.5million being dispersed to the community groups represented by those who volunteer over the years.
"This event helps our community to survive."
