Australia's Pie-Minister, Robert 'Dipper' DiPIErdomenico is encouraging all Australians to buy a pie, order a pie, bake a pie, share a pie recipe, and take part in the Pie Time in Pie-solation virtual events
He is also encouraging those in the Southern Highlands and visitors to the region to take part in the great Pie Trail.
Destination Southern Highlands group manager Tourism and economic development Steve Rosa said that June 1, "by an interesting turn of events after what we have all experienced over the last few months, is the first day of eased travel restrictions for NSW."
"So, we are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the Southern Pie-lands for the best pies in Australia," he said.
"All our local pie makers, bakeries, cafes and restaurants have really missed the trade over the last few months, first with the summer bushfires, and more recently due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"They look forward to giving visitors a taste of Southern Highlands' famous pies and hospitality."
However, Mr Rosa said that if people can't get out and about in the Highlands, they could still take part in Pie Time in Pie-solation.
He said there were various virtual events taking place every day through until June 7.
These include:
