Wingecarribee Shire Council's cultural development officer Erin Adams said the Art Trail gave the public a rare opportunity to meet the makers, to see their work in the environment within which it was created and to buy direct from the studio door.
Last year more than 40 studios and 100 artists were involved in the scheme attracting almost 6700 visitors to participating studios over the two-week period.
"Patrons told us they loved browsing the studios, meeting the artists and buying pieces direct from the workshop floor," Ms Adams said.

All participating studios will be required to open on both weekends of the trail and participating artists and studios must be located within the Wingecarribee Shire.
The 2020 Southern Highlands Art Trail will run over the weekend of November 7 and 8 and again the following weekend of November 14 and 15.
Ms Adams said staff were already busy making preparations despite the uncertainty of future gatherings.
"We're hopeful that the pandemic will be well and truly contained and social restrictions have been lifted by the time the Art Trail rolls around," she said.
"However, if this is not the case we'll have plans in place to ensure social distancing measures are maintained including limiting patron numbers in participating studios.
"Given how challenging 2020 has been so far, we believe this year's Art Trail will be particularly special with visitors keen to support our Southern Highlands arts community."
