Two Vietnamese men have been refused bail over their alleged involvement in growing almost $4 million worth of cannabis on a rural property in the Southern Highlands.

Van Tiu Phan and Thanh Phe Phan were arrested on Tuesday after police raided a property on Marulan Street in Wingello following an investigation into the cultivation of cannabis in the highlands.
Officers seized more than 1800 mature cannabis plants located across three large greenhouses on the property.

Police say the total estimated street value of the haul is $3.75 million.
The plants were removed from the greenhouses and certified by an agronomist before being destroyed on site with the help of the NSW RFS.
Police also located a large drying room and sleeping quarters on the property.
Both men were taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with large commercial cannabis cultivation.
Neither applied for bail during a brief mention of their matters in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday and bail was formally refused.
Both cases were adjourned for eight weeks to July 8 so police could begin serving the brief of evidence on the pair's respective legal teams.
