Normally the smell and flavour of a carefully baked product is the recipe for success.
However, success in the Southern Highlands Biggest Bake Off will come down to looks as the event is played out in a virtual environment.
The event has been organised by Wilson Financial in lieu of their annual Biggest Morning Tea fundraising activities which had to be cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Finance lending specialist Liz Wilson said her team wanted to continue the tradition of fundraising for the Cancer Council in 2020, but had to look to new ways to do that.
"Our annual Biggest Morning Tea fundraising generally boasts up to 100 participants and raises thousands of dollars each year," she said.
"We had planned for 2020 to be the year we took it to the open community and invited all the residents to a town hall. Obviously that idea had to be shut down.
"So the team put our heads together and decided to create the first ever, virtual, community bake off, and have some fun in our homes and with our children."
The inaugural Southern Highlands Bake Off kicked in to gear on May 5.
While the baking will be done in a real environment in the homes of entrants the rest of the event will be a virtual experience.
Entry in the competition, the sale of raffle tickets and donations will all be taken online.
In addition a series of photographs from each entry will also need to be shared online on Facebook.
Even the judging will be carried out online by two of the Highlands multi-award winning bakers Tracy and Vicki Nickl from Gumnut Patisserrie.
There will be four categories to enter in the competition including Sweet, Savoury, Pie and Kids categories.
And there will be prizes for both the adults and the children up for grabs.
Participants will need to post a picture of the baked goods untouched, and also cut open so the insides can be evaluated.
Prizes on offer include a Delonghi coffee machine, a new food processor, and kids prize packs from Bowral Sweets and Treats and Plaster Pitt, to name a few.
But the detail that has Wilson Financial team's greatest attention is the fundraising as they aim to raise as much money as possible for the Cancer Council.
Ms Wilson said every sent raised in the bake off would go to the Cancer Council which would normally rely on the Biggest Morning Tea as one of its main fundraising events for the year.
