According to the Bureau of Meteorology the bite of colder, wintery weather will hit the Southern Highlands on May 1.
The last month of autumn will begin with a low temperature of 5 with a high of 9 degrees expected on the day.

And the cold wet conditions are expected to continue across the weekend with a temperature range from 6 to 10 on May 2 and 4 to 13 on May 3. The temperature lows will continue into next week but by May 6 we can expect a slightly warmer high of 17.
Windy conditions up to 45km/h can also be expected through the weekend.
The cold change follows heavy rain experienced from the afternoon of April 29 and through the final day of the month.
The daily rainfall recorded by the BOM at its Orchard Street, Bowral station was 10mm up to 9am on April 30. This was the highest amount recorded at the site during April, which at the time of publication had recorded a monthly rainfall total of 18mm.
The BOM's Hoskin Street, Moss Vale, station recorded 13.8mm (an April high) for the same period with monthly total for Moss Vale sitting at 37.8mm.
No rainfall was listed from the Alfred Street site in Mittagong, for the same period, at the time of publication. The monthly total stood at 34.8mm with the highest rainfall recorded on April 3.
