Southern Highlands Police will target speeding, fatigue and drink this Easter long weekend.
Double demerits will be in force from Thursday, April 9 to Monday, April 13.
"While [COVID-19] is happening, we're trying to keep our roads safe," Inspector Klepczarek said.
"We won't have the volume of traffic we once had, but we do expect people to be out and about."
In addition to speeding, drink driving and fatigue, police will target mobile phone use.
"That's an ongoing problem. People are using distraction devices [at the wheel]."
The aim of the double demerits initiative is to encourage safe driving on long weekends and public holidays.
