Moss Vale Tennis Club president, Vic Gerada released this statement to members and the public.
"Following the advice from Tennis NSW, the Moss Vale Tennis Courts temporarily closed from midnight on Friday, March 27, 2020 in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions," Gerada said.
"In this ever changing situation, new guidelines for 'continued play' have since been issued by Tennis NSW. The full guidelines are attached.
"In summary, the new guidelines as they apply to tennis are:
- Clubs are responsible to assess the viability of ensuring the strict application of the restrictive guidelines at their individual venues.
- Dependent on the above assessment, casual tennis of groups no more than two and coaching (one-on-one only) under the stated guidelines is permissible.
"Casual and Member Court Access - After consideration by all members of our club committee, it has been decided that we could not responsibly guarantee application of the guidelines for casual or member use of our courts without the permanent presence of a person to manage, record and ensure that the required cleaning and hygiene requirements are applied.
"On that basis, our courts will unfortunately remain closed to casual booking and member use.
"One-on-One Coaching - It will be possible to allow 'one-on-one' coaching by Highlands Coaching.
"Sergio Rojas Tessel, our Head Coach, is Tennis NSW accredited and fully committed to their guidelines which he will personally apply.
"He has developed 'one on one' programs that are in accordance with the new guidelines.
"Check out the new programs through https://www.highlandstenniscommunity.com/plans-pricing.
"Further details will be forwarded in a separate email.
"We all need to take care of ourselves during these uncertain times, and of course exercise is an important part of this, even though with limited options.
"Let's be encouraged by the fact that the restrictions placed on us in Australia currently seem to be on track with containing the spread of the virus.
"Hopefully we can soon start getting back to our normal lives, including playing tennis."
