The Hill Top Lighting the Way Project was instigated by the Hill Top Community Centre Committee in a bid to improve the quality of lighting as well as a means to reduce power consumption.
The project involved replacing all of the lighting in the stadium with Light-emitting diode (LED) technology.
The Hill Top Community Centre Committee applied for funding in 2019 and secured part funding from the Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme and Veolia Mulwaree Trust.
The Project was successfully completed in January 2020 and has been praised as a fabulous improvement to the centre providing a very professional space for a variety of community activities.
The project has helped Hill Top Community Centre Committee improve the quality of services available to the community, provide lighting that meets the Australian standards, and has put energy savings in to community initiatives to provide more activities and programs.
"The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is pleased to be able to support the Hill Top Community Centre's lighting upgrade project and is confident hopes that the improvement to the indoor sport facility is of lasting benefit to the local community," Veolia Mulwaree Trust Trustee John Reynolds said.
The Hill Top Community Centre is used by Southern Highlands Indoor Sports and Infinite Aerial Arts each week.
The Hill Top Community Centre committee will continue to fund school holiday activities.
There are opportunities for the facility to be used by other services and organisations.
Facilities are available to run indoor basketball and netball as well as fitness groups and exercise classes.
