Southern Highlands Christian School has closed early due to COVID-19 concerns.
Parents of the remaining students at the school were called to pick up their children as a staff member notified the school that they had come in to potential indirect contact with a recently confirmed COVID-19 patient.
Director of strategic communications for the school Irma Le Roux Fourie said school erred on the side of caution.
"I just want to stress that no staff, student or family member at the school has tested positive for COVID-19," she said.
"The staff member found out this morning that they had been in indirect contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.
"This is just a precaution and not a risk. We have closed the school for cleaning."
Students will transition to online learning.
