What's coming up in council this week

The meeting will be held in the temporary council chambers within the Moss Vale Theatrette at the Civic Centre.
Council will livestream the meeting on its Facebook page.
- A notice of rescission regarding the Orchid Street development in Colo Vale will be debated. Councillors Ian Scandrett, Larry Whipper and Ken Halstead have put forth the motion to refuse the over 55s retirement development following the approval of the at the council meeting on February 12. The councillors believe that the DA should be refused for several reasons, including the bulk and scale of the development, bushfire concerns, loss of amenity to residents and traffic issues.
- Councillors will receive a report on how the council planned for the recent bushfire emergency and how council prepared to respond to the emergency. The report is to understand how the council prepares for emergencies and provide some understanding of the Australian Emergency Management Arrangements and legislated requirements.
- Councillors will receive a report on the status of legal proceedings. The status of legal proceedings will be discussed in closed council. The report will also include an update on the costs paid during November - December 2019 and January 2020 for legal proceedings involving the council in the Land and Environment Court.
- A petition will be delivered to council relation to Aitken Road Bowral. The petition contains more than 50 signatures and relates to a planning proposal to amend the Wingecarribee Local Environment Plan.
