The annual scholarship is awarded to a Year 12 student from the Wingecarribee shire who is planning to undertake a health-related course at university.
Recipients Angus Peattie and Alana Sargood will each receive $4000 to support their studies at the University of Wollongong.
Mr Peattie will take a gap year before beginning a Bachelor of Pre-Medicine in 2021 while Miss Sargood is starting her Bachelor of Nursing course this month.
Bowral and District Hospital General Manager Ken Barnett said he was delighted two outstanding young people were receiving support through the scholarship program this year.
"The calibre of applicants this year was outstanding and I congratulate both recipients,'' Mr Barnett said.
"They will ensure the future of our health care is in very good hands and I wish them every success in their studies.''
Mr Peattie, a former Chevalier College student, is aiming to become a doctor and has an interest in specialising in the fields of radiology, neurology or haematology.
"I am very excited about the future and the opportunity to contribute to the community through medicine with patient-centred care,'' he said.
Miss Sargood developed an interest in nursing after her father developed motor neurone disease.
"I hope to help others and make a difference in people's lives as a registered nurse,'' the former Bowral High School student said.
"I am looking forward to having the opportunity to support patients, their families and carers in the community.''
Bowral and District Hospital staff established the Centenary Scholarship program in 1989 to acknowledge the assistance the hospital received from the local community.
The NSW Government is investing $65 million in the redevelopment of Bowral and District Hospital which includes a purpose-built clinical services building with new theatres, adult and paediatric inpatient wards, birthing suites, more single rooms with ensuites and rehabilitation spaces.
