To show appreciation to all the brave work the Robertson RFS did over this Summer, Robertson Bowling Club will put on a night not to forget.
Director of the Robertson Bowling Club Ally Haining said it was something that needed to be done.
"I was sitting around and I thought to myself, we need to give these RFS some recognition," Haining said.
"I thought we could do something at the club. I'm a volunteer director at the club and one of my jobs is to create events, gigs, shows and fundraisers.
"I figured lets aim for the last day of summer, February 29 which is pretty ironic from the hellish Summer we've had, lets book it then, get to work and get something done for these brave people."
Ally and Robertson Bowls members got to work and got some big names to appear on the night.
"We've got three ex-football players, and waiting on confirmation on other stars," Haining said.
"Special guests include former NRL players Ian Hindmarsh, he's a local guy. We also have Rod Wishart plus ex Socceroo player Scott Chipperfield.
"Hindmarsh came into the club and I just approached him about the idea, nothing to lose, and he replied "sure, I'll be there!" I was very thankful.
"I rang Chipperfield on the phone and my friend organised Wishart. They're some big names and it's great to have them a part of the event."
The Robertson Bowls club may be a smaller club, but its generosity and heart is as big as any.
"It's great for the club, we don't have a big budget," Haining said.
"We're punching above our weight here, but I think it's going to be a really great night for all involved. Some of these crew members are a part of the bowling club.
"This is the least we can do for them. We needed to show them what their work meant, not just from the club, but the whole Robertson community."
The fun will begin Saturday, February 29. Gold coin entry.
Local band Midnight Express and The Wingecarribee Vocal Muster will entertain.
There'll be raffles/auctions and plenty of prizes to be won including signed shirts from the guests.
