Royal Society Southern Highlands branch will hold its next lecture on February 20 at the Moss Vale Services Club from 6.30pm. Guest speaker will be Professor John Thompson who will speak on the topic Controlling the Australian Melanoma Epidemic. Entry is $5 for members, $10 for non-members and teachers and students are free. Following the lecture there will be a dinner with the speaker.
Prancing for Parkinsons
Prancing for Parkinson's program of movement to music is held each Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm-2.30pm. This is held in the Baptist Church Hall in Merrigang Street, Bowral, and offers guided movement to music plus discussions, education, socialising and coffee. Every Friday morning between 10am and midday the foyer of the Mittagong Anglican Church is open to the public for free morning tea. The church's professional barista knows how to make one of the best coffees in town. A professional counsellor offering free support is also available. Come and join the group and make new friends in a relaxed and warm environment. St. Stephens Church is on the corner of Station and Main Streets and has been reaching out to the community for more than 140 years.

Southern Highlands Bereavement Care Service Suicide Bereavement Support Group is held on the first Tuesday of each month. This is facilitated by bereavement counsellors Donna and Jo-Anne. This group will be ongoing and held from 6.30pm to 8.00pm each month in Bowral. Southern Highlands Bushwalkers Inc will head to Izzard's Pass at Carrington Falls for the next adventure, weather permitting. This trek is scheduled for February 23. The walk will pass through difficult terrain with steep descent and ascents. It is for fit, experienced people only.
